SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Job Description (Including required skills and abilities):
Candidates for this position need to be experienced in solutions based approach to IT consulting, are able to create and present solution plan and proposal documentation, and possess the necessary hands on skill to implement the solutions they design. This position requires that candidates possess industry certifications for; Microsoft MCSE 2000, Citrix CCEA, Altiris ACE, and Cisco CCNA. Candidates must be able to effectively use Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Visio and Project to support required documentation and project management.
Qualification Requirements:
Requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability needed to adequately perform the job.
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum 2 year Associate Technical Degree
Minimum of 5 years experience in working with PCs, Servers, Network LAN and WAN hardware
Minimum of 2 years experience in working with IP LAN/WAN design and deployment of routers firewalls and switches.
Certificates, Licenses & Designations:
Desirable certifications include CNE, MCSE, CCA, CCEA, ACE, ACP, Compaq/ HP ASE/ACT, Unix ACE, HCT
Knowledge:
Knowledge of multiple network operating systems
Knowledge of desktop operating systems
Knowledge of various software models and types
Knowledge of systems relationships
Skills:
Troubleshooting skills
Customer service skills including excellent Customer assessment skills and setting reasonable expectations with Customer
Project management skills to plan and implement projects in a timely way
Abilities:
Ability to think beyond the confines of the usual technical problem solving
Ability to effectively communicate complex information to Customers and coworkers with varying degrees of technical expertise
Ability to manage multiple priorities to ensure Customer satisfaction
Flexibility to operate in rapidly changing industry
Demonstrates desire for and ability to seek new knowledge
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 60 lbs. or more
